[Sticky] Ark PvE & Genisis / Upcoming Change
With the launch of Genesis coming soon we have had a long admin meeting to discuss the future of the ARK PvE cluster and have decided we have to wipe the cluster to help correct multiple issues.
The first and most important is that after talking to our long term players, they have informed us they are bored, there is nothing more to do on the servers as they have completed everything.
The second is that the player count has dropped massively, this has caused the amount of subscribers we have to drop also. This in turn takes away our ability to add new maps and grow the cluster. This is a multi part issue, again it's mainly due to to players being bored.
There are also players that are giving out high level dinos to anyone that asks for them! Whilst we are extremely proud of our community for the help and generosity they offer to new players, a lot of new players are completing the game really quickly and are not staying around on the cluster. This is not only bad for our player base, but also ruins the game for people new to ARK!
It's not all bad news though with the wipe this means we could change the way you play the game completely we have been looking at new mods to mix things up bit and change the play style for you,of course we would like your input on these and any other mod suggestions.

This is very aggravating news for me and my 5 man tribe as we had recently started on the server and spent literally hundreds of hours on our progress to try and get to the point where we are over the last month.
Ark has mechanics in game to automatically delete bases that are inactive so all this is doing is deleting the active players progress..
I vote no on the discontinued Pimp my house mod as its 2 mods that are just astetics and buggy from my past experience
I am afraid for the first time since we started this community the actual wipe is not up for discussion, what is currently up for discussion is which mods we are going to be using.
could we not get ECO's mods instead of the pimp ones?
Slight change to the mod list in that we keep the upgrade station but lose the augment part so it removes the OP armor and weapons but keeps the BP sharing etc
Thats a shame to hear about the wipe. Only just started playing the game recently with my friend but we have spent a fair bit of time on it now. One reason we decided to choose this server was that it had a nice long time showing it had no wipes so thought we were safe:(
and keep s+, its such a core building mod, i have played without it for a while, and you dont understand the relief this mod brings
As a member of this community and a subscriber of many months I understand the Admins reasons, yes dino and structure are now wiped on decay timer but how many existing and left tribes exploited it before then and gained themselves a Boss Rex Army ( replace with any other high lvl dino or gear). at low lvl and where in tek in weeks? Changes can't really happen without a wipe nor can this cluster for that matter when subscribers (the ones helping to pay for the server's) are dropping like flies the issues need to be addressed. Quite simply long term members are bored they have nothing left to do in-game until genesis if there isn't a wipe then they will sail through that DLC in quick order and the cycle will continue until part 2 onwards. Whilst nobody likes to see their progress deleted the truth is if more folk where interested enough to invest in the community by subscription owners wouldn't be in this dire situation of making extreme decisions.
In a nutshell The cost to keep this cluster is more than what the Admins and existing subscribers can sustain somthing has to give somthing has to change to prevent players advancing too fast and getting bored too soon.
